CEM REDUCER 48®

CEM REDUCER 48®
Reduces the need for cement by 20 % and can reduce CO2 emissions by 48 % by switching from CEM I to CEM II cement. Instead of 50 kg, you can achieve a C20-F4 with just 40 kg. Your solution for climate-neutral and sustainable construction.

DOSAGE
| Compressive strength | CT-C20-F4 |
| Dosage | 400 ml |
| Cement quantity | 40 kg |
- Do not exceed the maximum dosage of 500 ml.
- The specifications refer to a standard mixing vessel with a net capacity of 200 litres and a filling quantity of approx. 320 kg screed sand.
- The specification ‘after the X. Day’ does not include the day of installation.
- The strength class depends on the quality of the screed sand used.
MIXING INSTRUCTIONS
- Shake the container well to mix the Retanol® Reducer 48 additive to a consistent colour before use, and then shake as required throughout the installation to maintain the consistency of the liquid (every 30 min).
- Fill half of mixing vessel with 0-4 mm screeding sand and required cement.
- Add CEM® Reducer 48 to the first mixing water (usually 5-10 litres), then fill the machine completely.
- Gradually add the required amount of residual water until a stiff-plastic consistency is achieved.
- Let the screed mix for a full 2 minutes.
SAND, WATER, CEMENT
- Grading curve: Sand must be according to DIN 1045-2 A/B / BS 13139*, for the production of screed concrete, grain size range 0-4 mm
- W/C value:Min 0,4, max. 0,6
- Cement: Use of cement grade 42.5 R/N according to PCT cement release list
- CO2 savings through cement selection:
- CEM I-Cement: Reduces CO2 emissions by approx. 20 % compared to a standard mix with CEM I
- CEM II-Cement: Reduces CO2 emissions by approx. 48 % compared to a standard mix with CEM I

PROCESSING INSTRUCTIONS
- Working time: 60 minutes
- Finishing time: 90 minutes
- Outside temperature: +5 °C to +28 °C for screed, environment and substrate
- Do not mix with other screed additives
- Never reactivate screed that has already set with water
Airing
- If the air humidity is 55 % or higher, ventilate 3-4 times a day for 20-30 minutes 24 hours after screed installation in order to achieve readiness for covering.
- If the humidity is below 55%, contact PCT technical support to avoid cupping etc.
FURTHER PRODUCT FEATURES
- Tension and shrinkage reduced according to SW 2
- Density approx. 2,000 to 2,200 kg/m3
- Better processing and lower peel resistance
- Reduction of air content
- Start ventilation after 1 day
Protective instructions during and after installation
- We recommend our PROTEC-ES/SP product to protect against drying out too quickly, depending on the floor covering. We recommend consulting the PCT technical support team.
- Protect the screed against rapid drying of the surface due to draughts, sunlight and low humidity.
- Large window fronts and floor-level glass façade areas should be darkened if necessary.
- Cover screeds in outdoor areas or enclose areas to be covered. Contact PCT technical support if screed is to be laid outdoors.
CM MEASUREMENT
- A screed with CEM® Reducer 48 does not have a defined readiness for covering and is therefore assessed with regard to its residual moisture in accordance with the measurement and assessment standards of DIN 18560/BS 8204*.
- In this case, PCT Chemie and the Retanol® specialist company assume no responsibility for the readiness for covering.
- The CM measurement is therefore part of the floor layer's inspection obligation and is carried out by him.
