*CEM I 42.5 R/N and smoothing of wings
- Do not exceed the maximum dosage of 600 ml.
- The specifications refer to a standard mixing vessel with a net capacity of 200 litres and a filling quantity of approx. 320 kg of screed gravel.
- The specification "after the X. Day" does not include the day of installation.
- The strength class depends on the quality of the screed gravel used.
MIXING INSTRUCTIONS
- Shake the container well to mix the Retanol® Indestra 100 Concentrate additive to a consistent colour before use, and then shake as required throughout the installation to maintain the consistency of the liquid (every 30 mins).
- Fill half of mixing vessel with 0-4 mm screeding sand (60-70% fine grains up to 2 mm in diameter, and 30-40% coarse grains greater than 2 mm in diameter).
- Add Retanol® Indestra 100 Concentrate to the first mixing water (usually 5-10 litres), then fill the machine completely.
- Gradually add the required amount of residual water until a stiff-plastic consistency is achieved.
- Let the screed mix for a full 2 minutes.
SAND, WATER, CEMENT
- Grading curve: Sand must be according to DIN 1045-2 A/B / BS 13892-2*, for the production of screed concrete, Körnungsbereich 0–8 mm
- 0-4 mm: For bonded screed with nominal thicknesses < 20 mm
- 0-8 mm: For bonded screed with nominal thicknesses ≥ 20 mm
- W/C value: Min 0.4 max. 0.6
- Cement: Use of cement according to PCT cement release list
- ≥ C50-F7: 75 kg cement grade 42.5 R/N according to PCT cement release list
- Wear resistance classes A8 to A6: 75 kg CEM I-Cement of grade 42,5 R/N
*UK only
PROCESSING INSTRUCTIONS
- Working time: 45 minutes
- Finishing time: 60 minutes
- Outside temperature: +5 °C to +28 °C for screed, environment and substrate
- Do not mix with other screed additives
- Never reactivate screed that has already set with water
Airing
- If the air humidity is 55 % or higher, ventilate 3-4 times a day for 20-30 minutes 24 hours after screed installation in order to achieve readiness for covering.
- If the humidity is below 55%, contact PCT technical support to avoid cupping etc.
CM MEASUREMENT
- A screed with Retanol® Indestra 100 Concentrate does not have a defined readiness for covering and is therefore assessed with regard to its residual moisture in accordance with the measurement and assessment standards of DIN 18560/BS 8204*.
- In this case, PCT Chemie and the Retanol® specialist company assume no responsibility for the readiness for covering.
- The CM measurement is therefore part of the floor layer's inspection obligation and is carried out by him.
*UK only
Protective instructions during and after installation
- We recommend our PROTEC-ES/SP product to protect against drying out too quickly, depending on the floor covering. We recommend consulting the PCT technical support team.
- Protect the screed against rapid drying of the surface due to draughts, sunlight and low humidity.
- Large window fronts and floor-level glass façade areas should be darkened if necessary.
- Cover screeds in outdoor areas or enclose areas to be covered. Contact PCT technical support if screed is to be laid outdoors.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
Wear resistance classes A8 to A6:
- For A9: The screed surface must be levelled by machine.
- For A8, A7, and A6: Additional sash smoothing with a powerful machine weighing at least 80 kg.
- For wear resistance classes below A9, we recommend carrying out an initial inspection.
Hard material scattering:
- In principle, all hard materials regulated according to DIN 1100/BS 20290* can be used.
- Carry out your own tests in advance to check the compatibility of Retanol® Indestra 100 Concentrate and the binder used for the bedding.
Bonded screeds:
- Bonding Course: The bonding course ZE from PCT Chemie must be used to create the bond.
- Curings: The substrate must not be treated with curings to ensure adhesion.
