| Wear resistance | ≥ A12 | ≥ A9/(A8 to A6)*** | ≥ A9/(A8 to A6)*** | ≥ A9/(A8 to A6)*** |
- Do not exceed the maximum dosage of 600 ml.
- The specifications refer to a standard mixing vessel with a net capacity of 200 litres and a filling quantity of approx. 320 kg of screed gravel.
- The strength class depends on the quality of the screed gravel used.
- The specification "after the X. Day" does not include the day of installation.
- For nominal thicknesses over 80 mm, readiness for covering may be delayed. Therefore, consult with technical support in advance to find a joint solution.
MIXING INSTRUCTIONS
- Shake the container well to mix the Retanol® Indestra Pro Concentrate additive to a consistent colour before use, and then shake as required throughout the installation to maintain the consistency of the liquid (every 30 mins).
- Fill half of mixing vessel with 0-4 mm screeding sand (60-70% fine grains up to 2 mm in diameter, and 30-40% coarse grains greater than 2 mm in diameter).
- Add Retanol® Indestra Pro Concentrate to the first mixing water (usually 5-10 litres), then fill the machine completely.
- Gradually add the required amount of residual water until a stiff-plastic consistency is achieved.
- Let the screed mix for a full 2 minutes.
SAND, WATER, CEMENT
- Grading curve: Sand must be according to DIN 1045-2 A/B /BS 13892-2*
- 0-4 mm: For bonded screed with nominal thicknesses < 20 mm
- 0-8 mm: For bonded screed with nominal thicknesses ≥ 20 mm
- W/C value: Min 0.4 max. 0.6
- Cement: Use of cement according to PCT cement release list
- ≥ C50-F7: 75 kg cement grade 42.5 R/N according to PCT cement release list
- Wear resistance classes A8 to A6: 75 kg CEM I-Cement of grade 42,5 R/N
*UK only
PROCESSING INSTRUCTIONS
- Working time: 45 minutes
- Finishing time: 60 minutes
- Outside temperature: +5 °C to +28 °C for screed, environment and substrate
- Do not mix with other screed additives
- Never reactivate screed that has already set with water
Airing
- If the air humidity is 55 % or higher, ventilate 3-4 times a day for 20-30 minutes 24 hours after screed installation in order to achieve readiness for covering.
- If the humidity is below 55%, contact PCT technical support to avoid cupping etc.
CM MEASUREMENT
- A Retanol® screed is considered a special screed in terms of readiness for covering in the first 56 days after installation and can be tested and approved by PCT Chemie with regard to its readiness for covering by means of a CM measurement.
- The CM measurement, including the issuing of a guarantee declaration and the assumption of the warranty, can be ordered free of charge from PCT Chemie during this period by the Retanol® specialist company, floor layers, tilers or the client. Further information on the release of the screed can be found on our homepage under ‘Guarantee’ (EU only).
- After 56 days, the Retanol® screed is assessed in accordance with the standard values of DIN 18560/BS-8203*.
*UK only
Protective instructions during and after installation
- We recommend our PROTEC-ES/SP product to protect against drying out too quickly, depending on the floor covering. We recommend consulting the PCT technical support team.
- Protect the screed against rapid drying of the surface due to draughts, sunlight and low humidity.
- Large window fronts and floor-level glass façade areas should be darkened if necessary.
- Cover screeds in outdoor areas or enclose areas to be covered. Contact PCT technical support if screed is to be laid outdoors.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
Wear resistance classes A8 to A6:
- For A9: The screed surface must be levelled by machine.
- For A8, A7, and A6: Additional sash smoothing with a powerful machine weighing at least 80 kg.
- For wear resistance classes below A9, we recommend carrying out an initial inspection.
Hard material scattering:
- In principle, all hard materials regulated according to DIN 1100/BS 20290* can be used.
- Carry out your own tests in advance to check the compatibility of Retanol® Indestra Pro Concentrate and the binder used for the bedding.
Bonded screeds:
- Bonding Course: The bonding course ZE from PCT Chemie must be used to create the bond.
- Curings: The substrate must not be treated with curings to ensure adhesion.
